Basic Lactation Workshop

Lactation is the production and secretion of milk by the mammary glands. Fernandez Hospital is conducting a Lactation Workshop to enhance the knowledge of nurses, midwives and doctors about Lactation. To teach all expectant mothers how to successfully breastfeed and sustain it up to 2 years or more. To train all staff who come in contact with mothers and infants to promote, protect and support breastfeeding. To heighten community awareness of the importance of breastfeeding.

22 July 2026 | Wednesday | 3PM – 4PM

• Importance of breastfeeding and Anatomy and physiology of breastfeeding
• Milk bank functioning, expression and storage of breastmilk

 
23 July 2026 | Thursday | 3PM – 4PM

• Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative, IMS act, Hospital practices in breastfeeding
• Sustenance of exclusive breastfeeding and Myths about breastfeeding
