DOING LESS IS NO LONGER AN OPTION!
Conventionally, fertility evaluation involves serial sonography through different phases of the menstrual cycle in order to assess uterine, ovarian and tubal factors on 2D ultrasound. However, our management protocol has evolved over time to incorporate 3D imaging and enhanced sonography into the baseline ultrasound assessment in a step-wise, one-stop strategy. This approach is advantageous, patient-friendly, economical and also supported by recent literature.

To help enhance our understanding and application of this concept, we have with us Dr Sonal Panchal, renowned Consultant Sonography Specialist at Dr Nagori’s Institute for Infertility in Ahmedabad which is a Centre of Excellence for lan Donald Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound. She is a pioneer for application of Doppler and 3D-4D in infertility, and has conducted outstanding research in endometrial receptivity and PCOS.
