Guidelines for
Authors
The Scientific / Abstracts Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for free communication – oral papers and posters.
Out of all the submissions after review by the committee, 8 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation, and the rest will be accepted as poster presentations.
The announcement for the selections will be displayed on the website by 21 July 2024. The same will also be conveyed to the authors via email.
The best oral presentation and the best poster will receive an award at the end of the conference.
Rules for Abstract Submission:
Registration for the conference is mandatory for the submission of the abstract.
- To be submitted via email to abstracts@fherf.org
- The submission should include; Title of the research, Author names, Presenting author details and corresponding email/phone number, and a Structured abstract.
- Structured abstract – Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
- Total 250 words.
- Times New Roman font, size 12.
- The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
- The presenting author must be listed as the first author and should be registered for the conference (mandatory).
- Submitted abstracts should include non-published data.
- Please note that the submitting author will receive all correspondence about the abstract, so we advise that the submitting author's details that are entered are the same details as those of the presenting author.
- Only one abstract per presenter will be accepted.
- CONFLICT OF INTEREST & ETHICAL APPROVAL: The abstract submitter must attach an approval letter from the HOD / Superintendent declaring that it was not submitted previously in any conference and that there is no conflict of interest in the presentation.
- PLAGIARISM: Copying work or ideas from someone else and presenting them as one’s own is plagiarism and is regarded by the conference organizers as serious professional misconduct. We trust our attendees and recommend that if a presentation builds on the work of another, the presenters ensure that they reference the intellectual property of others.
POSTER GUIDELINES
- Posters will be displayed in the Exhibition Hall and for the duration of the Conference.
- Each poster presentation will be numbered, and poster walls are numbered accordingly.
- Upon arrival at the conference, please notify the conference staff that you have a poster presentation and you will be informed of the location for your poster.
- It is expected that the presenter should be available at the poster for a designated hour to discuss it with congress participants.
- Poster specifications: Poster size is A1. Poster orientation: vertical/portrait. Should be readable at a distance of 2-3 meters. Includes a reasonable amount of text and uses visual means to convey the message. Text should include: Background, methods, findings, and conclusions. Includes names of authors, affiliations and contact information.
- Accepted posters must also be provided in an electronic format for those accessing sessions ‘on-demand’ after the conclusion of the conference.
ORAL PAPER GUIDELINES
- There will be 6 oral papers distributed on the day of the conference. The speakers will be notified of the day and time prior to the conference and can access the same on the website when the final scientific program is uploaded.
- The time allocated for each presentation is 15 minutes. Of this, 10 minutes is for the speaker and 5 minutes for questions and answers.
- Presenters are encouraged to use PowerPoint as their presentation media or similar templates.
- The conference will be equipped with a computer and projector in each presentation room. Normal audio equipment such as microphones will be provided.
- Please send your PowerPoint slides no later than 31 st October 2023 to abstracts@fherf.org
Good Practices
- We recommend maximum 1 slide per minute of speaking time. This means approximately 10 slides maximum for your 10 minutes oral presentation.
- Make sure the letters on your slides are large enough.
- There is no official conference template for PowerPoint; feel free to use the template you prefer, e.g. a template from your own organization.
- Please arrive well in advance of your presentation
